U.S. Embassy hosts Ivoirian business leaders and entrepreneurs at virtual conference on African Growth and Opportunity Act

Following the announcement that Côte d’Ivoire will host the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) forum in 2019, the U.S. Embassy convened over 100 Ivoirian business leaders and entrepreneurs from small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to learn about the act at a web conference on August 2, 2018. The conference, moderated by the West African Trade Hub in Dakar, allowed participants from six Francophone West African countries to learn about AGOA and the benefits that member countries enjoy, as well as eligibility criteria. Participants posed questions to the conference speakers about the provisions, the type of qualifying goods, and benefits of the act.
