U.S. Delegation Meets President Ouattara, Head of CEI, and Holds Press Availability

A high-level American delegation attended the inauguration of President Alassane Ouattara following his re-election. The delegation was led by Thomas A. Shannon, Counselor of the Department of State, and included Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, and U.S. Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire Terence P. McCulley. The delegation held talks with President Ouattara and used the opportunity to congratulate the people of Côte d’Ivoire and the country’s political stakeholders for a peaceful election.
