In his remarks, Ambassador McCulley emphasized that this donation demonstrates the U.S. Embassy’s contribution to peace, unity and harmony through sports. He added that the distribution of the balls was possible thanks to the collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and the American NGO One World Play Project.

The One World Play Project has donated over two million soccer balls to disadvantaged communities throughout the world. The U.S. Embassy in Abidjan received 5,700 soccer balls, which are being distributed to soccer training centers and clubs, and to secondary schools in several regions of the country.
