Sandrine N’Doly Kraidy to Participate in International Visitor Leadership Program

ABIDJAN – The Embassy of the United States in Abidjan is pleased to announce that Mrs. Sandrine N’Doly Kraid has been invited to the United States to attend an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) entitled “Women Leaders: Promoting peace and security”.  Through this program, participants will examine the current and historical roles of women in political transitions, post-conflict reconstruction, humanitarian emergencies, conflict prevention and peacemaking efforts; familiarize with the constitutional, judicial and legislative processes and practices that promote gender equality and protect women’s human rights.

Participants will visit Washington, D.C; San Diego, California; Albuquerque & Santa Fe, New Mexico; Austin & San Antonio, Texas; Chicago, Illinois

Mrs. Sandrine N’DOLY KRAIDY is Director of Child Protection, in Ministry of Solidarity, Women, Family and Children.

The IVLP is a professional exchange program that seeks to build mutual understanding between the United States and other nations through carefully designed short-term visits to the United States for current and emerging foreign leaders.  International Visitors are current or emerging leaders in government, politics, the media, education, the arts, business, and other key fields.  International Visitors travel to the United States to meet and confer with their professional counterparts and to gain an appreciation of the ethnic, cultural, political, and socio-economic diversity of the United States.  Over 190,000 International Visitors have participated in the program since its inception in 1940.
