Beginning September 15, 2023, U.S. Embassy Abidjan will begin accepting online fee payments for DS-82 adult U.S. passport renewal applications. You will still need to drop off your application in-person at the Embassy but will not need to schedule an appointment in advance. Walk-in hours for DS-82 passport renewals are Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00am – 10:00am, except for Ivorian and American holidays. Qualifying adult passport renewal applicants may pay the $130 passport renewal fee online via U.S. or international credit or debit card, electronic funds transfer from a U.S.-based bank account, Amazon Pay, or Pay Pal. After successfully paying the fee, you must print out the electronic payment confirmation you receive via email and bring it to the embassy with your application during walk-in hours. Online fee payment is currently available for passport book renewals only. If you wish to renew or apply for a passport card, you must make an appointment to apply in person at the Embassy or Consulate nearest you.
Please be prepared for your appointment with all required documents. If you arrive for your appointment unprepared, you may be turned away and asked to reschedule.
There is limited walk-in service for certain renewals of adult passports. All other applicants, including minors, must make an appointment for any services related to passports, citizenship, or birth registration. These services are by appointment only. Please visit our appointment website here: https://evisaforms.state.gov/Instructions/ACSSchedulingSystem.asp to make an appointment.
