International Day of Women and Girls in Science
To mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, U.S. Embassy Abidjan, , invited 40 girls and 5 women scientists who addressed the problem of women in Science in Côte d’Ivoire and in the world. Professor Rita Kacou Yao, president of the Association of Women Researchers of Côte d’Ivoire and Doctor Tako Dominique encouraged girls to forget about cultural stereotypes and to get involved rigorously in their studies. Several scientific experiments enabled the participants to work with scientific equipment and to learn how to use a microscope.
