The 2017 “Bright Girls, Bright Futures” STEM Camp brought together 40 high school and university young women from Cote d’Ivoire, selected through a national competition, to the International University of Grand Bassam (IUGB) for four days of workshops, activities, robotics, experiments and mentoring. In addition to congratulating the work on developing leadership skills of young women and building networks for further growth in STEM fields, the Chargé d’Affaires Andrew Haviland highlighted the correlation between the strength of a country’s STEM education and inclusive economic growth at the closing ceremony.
